San Sebastian financiers warn not to chase Obsession and Backrooms

Financiers at San Sebastian's Creative Investors' Conference said the runs of Obsession and Backrooms should not guide future buying, Variety reported on 23 September. Raj Singh of Media Capital Technologies called the films individual "black swan events," while CAA Media Finance executive Sarah Schweitzman said "Nobody saw those two movies coming," Variety reported.
