Sombr rejects claim parents' HIV/AIDS work helped him get signed

Sombr rejected speculation that family connections launched his music career in an ELLE cover story published on Sept. 22. He called it "incredibly insane" to think his parents' work helped him land a record deal. His father Andy Boose produces events for HIV/AIDS organisations; his mother Bennah Serfaty works in HIV/AIDS prevention, ELLE and Billboard reported.
