WGA settles lawsuit to block Paramount Skydance's $111bn Warner Bros Discovery deal

The Writers Guild of America East and West settled their lawsuit to block Paramount Skydance's proposed Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition, Variety reported on 21 September 2026. The $111 billion deal value was reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The Guild said it still believes the merger will damage writers but cited the cost of pursuing a complex trial alone, Variety reported.
