Egypt selects The Stories for 99th Academy Awards

Egypt has selected Abu Bakr Shawky's drama The Stories as its entry for Best International Feature at the 99th Academy Awards, Deadline reported on 21 September. Amir El-Masry stars as an aspiring pianist opposite Valerie Pachner, according to Deadline. The film premiered at Tallinn Black Nights in 2025 and won Carthage's Golden Tanit, Deadline reported.
