Oliver jokes about Ellisons as Paramount's $110.9 billion WBD takeover moves through courts

Variety reported John Oliver returned to Last Week Tonight after a monthlong break and joked his "soon-to-be business daddy" has a "literal business daddy". Variety reported he pictured Paramount Skydance chief executive David Ellison with Larry Ellison, while its $110.9 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, HBO's parent, moves through the courts and Oliver remains contracted through 2027.
