Ke Huy Quan opened a Lucasfilm envelope to find almost US$100,000 in first residuals for playing Short Round, Variety reported. Quan was 12 when he booked Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and did not expect residuals, repeat payments for reuse beyond base pay, Variety reported. He recounts the payment in memoir Never Say Die, Variety reported.
