Paramount closes deal for Pitt to star in Berger-directed World War Z sequel

Paramount has closed a deal for Brad Pitt to star in a World War Z sequel directed by Edward Berger, Deadline reported.

Dennis Kelly will write the script, Deadline reported. Pitt will produce with Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B, with Berger executive producing, Deadline reported.

The 2013 original earned more than $540 million worldwide, Deadline reported.
