Sam Shmith, former studio manager for artist Adam Pendleton, invented Artist Engineering Hardware in Melbourne, Australia, The Art Newspaper reported on 18 September 2026. A reusable grip locks into a bracket fixed in the frame. Handlers hold the grip, not the work. The system aims to cut damage in transport and installation.
