FCC Waives 25% Foreign-Ownership Cap for Paramount-Warner Bros.

The FCC on Sept. 17 waived its 25% cap on foreign ownership, allowing state investment funds from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Abu Dhabi to hold 49.5% of the combined Paramount-Warner Bros. The approval, under Section 310(b)(4), applies to financial ownership in the parent company that holds the broadcast licenses.
