Six books covering 3,000 years make 2026 Wolfson History Prize shortlist

Six books spanning 3,000 years made the 2026 Wolfson History Prize shortlist, the final six still in contention, announced 17 September 2026. The United Kingdom prize, in its 54th year, rewards history accessible to general readers. Judges said the titles show how societies unite or divide after disruption. The winner is named 1 December.
