The Weeknd says he is not retiring

Abel Tesfaye told GQ Hong Kong he is "not stepping away from anything" and is "just hibernating". He said "The Weeknd isn't going anywhere" and he will keep performing for as long as he possibly can, reversing earlier talk of retiring the persona he has used since 2011.
