SoundExchange and MusicNation sign US-UAE neighbouring-rights deal

SoundExchange and the UAE's MusicNation signed a reciprocal neighbouring-rights agreement, the organisations announced on September 17. Neighbouring rights, the royalties for performers and rights owners when recordings are broadcast or played in public, will now flow both ways: US recordings played in the UAE pay US holders, and Emirati recordings played in the US pay Emirati creators.
