Malba selects Frida Escobedo for underground expansion to double exhibition space

The Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (Malba) in Buenos Aires has chosen Mexican architect Frida Escobedo to design an underground expansion beneath adjacent Plaza Perú, The Art Newspaper reported. The museum says the scheme will double exhibition space, with opening expected in late 2029 or early 2030. Construction is expected to begin in 2027.
