United States returns 58 cultural artefacts to China

The United States returned 58 cultural artefacts to China, ARTnews reported on 17 September 2026. Repatriation, transfer back to a country of origin, is the latest bilateral heritage return, ARTnews reported. A March 2025 return of 41 pieces was reported by South China Morning Post, with around 600 in total, according to China's Embassy in the United States.
