Kennedy Center shuts main building for at least seven days over safety risks

The Kennedy Center closed its main building without notice on Sept. 16 for at least seven days. Executive director Matt Floca said in a Sept. 17 court filing, reported by ABC News, the shutdown was due to 'acute risks to public safety' from deterioration after a roof inspection and partial ceiling collapse. It may be extended after review.
