Nawaqanitawase to leave Roosters for union return in Japan

Mark Nawaqanitawase, 26, will leave the Sydney Roosters to rejoin rugby union with Saitama Wild Knights in Japan's League One. The move follows his Roosters commitments. The 11-cap former Wallaby scored 41 tries in 44 NRL games after switching codes in 2025. His last union Test was at the 2023 World Cup.
