France selects Cannes Grand Prize winner Minotaur for Oscar race

France has selected Andrey Zvyagintsev's Cannes Grand Prize winner 'Minotaur' as its submission for the international feature Oscar, the award for films made outside the United States, Variety reported on Sept. 16. The Russian-language drama beat four shortlisted rivals, Variety reported. The Academy will publish its 15-film shortlist on Dec. 15 ahead of the March 14, 2027 ceremony, Variety reported.
