Na Hong-jin has written 'Hope' sequel as franchise opener

Writer-director Na Hong-jin has written a sequel to sci-fi epic 'Hope,' conceived as the first chapter of a potential franchise, Variety reported in July. 'Hope' premiered at Cannes in May, the Hollywood Reporter reported. It earned $36 million in South Korea and just over $5 million in its first extended weekend in North America to Sept. 16, the Reporter reported.
