BRICS to fund BRICS Pay for trade in local currencies

BRICS leaders agreed at the Sept. 12-13 New Delhi summit to fund BRICS Pay to expand trade in local currencies. The decentralised system would link national payment rails — the networks that move money — and settle trade in local currencies via QR codes and wallets, bypassing the dollar. It remains in pilot, not yet operating across all 11 members.
