Bank of England Likely to Hold Rates at 3.75% Despite Inflation Rise

The Bank of England is expected to leave interest rates at 3.75% on 17 September, even as UK inflation, the pace of price rises, climbed to 3.1% in August, above its 2% target. It warned in July that a worst-case Middle East escalation could push inflation to 4.5% by mid-2027. Markets saw a one-in-five chance of a rise.
