Sage launches Eye Q toaster that toasts by colour, not time

Sage Appliances has launched the Eye Q, which the company describes as the first toasters to toast by colour, not time. Users select darkness rather than minutes, Dezeen reported on 16 September 2026. A pair of sensors measures colour change to decide when toast is done, with no adjustment for thickness or bread type.
