
Iran War Has Cost U.S. $38 Billion, Budget Office Estimates
The U.S. military has spent about $38 billion on the Iran war through Aug. 1, Congress's budget office estimated Sept. 15. The cost could rise $3 billion a month depending on fighting levels. Analysts relied mainly on public reports after the Pentagon didn't answer requests. Sustained spending at that pace will test congressional support for a longer war.
