U.S. Confirms Weapons Deployed in Orbit

The United States said Sept. 14 it has weapons in Earth's orbit, its first admission of offensive space capabilities. Air Force Secretary Troy Meink announced the 'space control weapons' to protect U.S. forces. No technical details were given. Without public rules for use, I expect rivals to build countermeasures and crisis risks to rise.
