Nineteen wickets fell on day one at Chelmsford. Essex were bowled out for 134 in 44 overs, then Warwickshire closed on 151-9 for a 17-run lead. Ethan Bamber took 6 for 26 for Warwickshire. Sam Hain was 58 not out. George Bell made 61 not out for Essex.
