King Willem-Alexander delivers Troonrede to open Dutch parliamentary year

King Willem-Alexander delivered the Troonrede, the Speech from the Throne, at a joint session of the States General in The Hague on 15 September 2026 for Prinsjesdag, the State Opening of Parliament. The speech, read on behalf of the government, set out budget plans for the coming year. The cabinet then presented the Miljoenennota, the budget memorandum.
