
Judge Blocks DHS Stay Limits for Foreign Students, Journalists
U.S. District Judge F. Dennis Saylor in Boston blocked a Department of Homeland Security rule that would limit how long foreign students and journalists can stay without seeking an extension. The July rule would have ended nearly 50 years of duration-of-status admissions, which tie stays to schooling or work. Universities and newsrooms now await a DHS appeal or rewrite.
