Register names King James II as leader of company that trafficked 150,000 enslaved Africans

The Register of British Slave Traders names King James II as leader of the state-backed Royal African Company. The Company trafficked at least 150,000 African men, women and children, more than any other organisation in transatlantic slave trade history. The Register documents thousands of investors in Britain's trafficking of more than 3 million enslaved people.
