Matthew Rhys won two lead Emmys in one night at the 78th Emmy Awards, for Netflix's The Beast in Me in limited series, meaning a one-season story, and Apple TV's Widow's Bay in comedy, Variety reported on 15 September 2026. It said no performer had done that double before.
