Blumhouse and Universal Pictures have bought River, Joshua Giuliano's debut slasher, for over $10 million, Deadline reported on 14 September 2026. The Midnight Madness premiere sparked a bidding war at Toronto, where Sony bid $8 million, Deadline reported. Focus Features, Paramount, A24 and Netflix passed by Saturday night, Deadline reported.
