Constantin Films paused Resident Evil after 2021 flop until Cregger approach

Constantin Films put Resident Evil films on ice after the dismal box-office run of 2021's Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. CEO Oliver Berben said on The Town podcast the studio wanted to leave the franchise alone. Director Zach Cregger then approached with producer Roy Lee to ask if the rights were available.
