Scott Borthwick to retire after 18-year career

Durham's Scott Borthwick will retire from professional cricket at the end of the season after an 18-year career. The club announced the decision on 14 September 2026. Borthwick debuted aged 18 in 2008, played 222 first-class matches, spent four seasons at Surrey, captained Durham to the 2023 Division Two title and played four England matches across formats.
