Starmer quits, triggering 8 October by-election

The BBC said Sir Keir Starmer has stood down as MP for Holborn and St Pancras to take a role in international affairs. A by-election — a local vote to choose a new MP — will be held on 8 October. Nominations, the formal list of candidates, close at 16:00 BST on Tuesday.
