Preston sack Heckingbottom with club second-bottom

Preston North End have sacked Paul Heckingbottom with the club second-bottom of the Championship, England's second tier. The 1-0 home defeat to Lincoln City at Deepdale was his final game, according to BBC Sport, and Preston's sixth defeat in seven league games. Appointed in August 2024, he took charge of 109 games.
