Sainz and Alonso out in Q1 at home Spanish Grand Prix

Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso were knocked out in Q1 — the opening qualifying cut — for the Spanish Grand Prix at Madrid's Madring. Sainz managed 1:35.312 for Williams, Alonso 1:35.388 for Aston Martin, the timing screens showed. Sainz also carries a three-place grid penalty for impeding Valtteri Bottas.
