Philippines selects 'Filipiñana' as Oscar international feature entry

The Philippines will send Rafael Manuel's 'Filipiñana' to the 99th Academy Awards as its international feature entry, Variety reported on 13 September 2026. Written and directed by Manuel and picked from eight shortlisted films, Variety said, it follows Isabel, 17, from the provinces, hired at a prestigious golf resort amid heat and drought.
