Sean Penn executive produces Black Sunflowers, joins Toronto premiere

Sean Penn serves as executive producer, a senior backing credit, on Black Sunflowers and travelled to Toronto to support its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, Deadline reported on 13 September. The Ukraine war-themed documentary is directed by James Marcus Haney, Deadline reported. Penn previously directed the 2023 documentary Superpower about Ukraine, Deadline reported.
