Newcastle Red Bulls beat Leicester Tigers 36-24 at Mattioli Woods Welford Road in the Prem Rugby Cup. Dan McFarland won his first senior fixture as Newcastle head coach. Tries from Will Rigg, Harrison Obatoyinbo and Alex Hearle built a 21-0 half-time lead. The win ended nine straight defeats to Leicester.
