Blizzard announces StarCraft as open-world shooter

Blizzard announced a new StarCraft game built as an open-world shooter. The reveal came during BlizzCon's opening ceremony. It drops the series' real-time-strategy format, where players command armies from above, for on-the-ground gun combat across a large map. Working title is StarCraft, with release scheduled for 2030.
