Hipkins: Labour won't drop public events despite violent election risk

Labour leader Chris Hipkins said the party will keep holding public meetings rather than shifting to controlled events, despite being "very mindful" the election could turn violent. His comments follow volunteers physically shielding health spokesperson Ayesha Verrall from anti-vaccination protesters in Wellington. Hipkins called the protesters' views "anti-science" and not representative of most New Zealanders.
