Suno admits it scraped YouTube audio to train its AI, confirming labels' core allegation

Suno admitted in a 26-page court filing dated September 1 that it used the tool YT-DLP to obtain audio data from YouTube for training its AI models. The admission came in its answer to a copyright lawsuit filed by UMG, Capitol, Sony Music and Atlantic in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Suno's defence now rests on fair use and challenges to the labels' standing.
