Italian fashion sector swings from projected growth to contraction in 2026

Carlo Capasa, president of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, projected 2026 sales for Italy's fashion and connected industries at EUR 91.4 billion, down 1.6 percent from 2025. Exports are forecast at EUR 84.5 billion, down 2.5 percent. Earlier projections had sales rising 1 percent and exports up 2.5 percent.
