Insurance repricing threat to Fire and Emergency's levy funding

Fire and Emergency New Zealand funds 95–97 percent of its operations through levies on property insurance policies. But climate-driven repricing is pushing households and businesses to drop coverage, shrinking the levy base even as demand on the service grows. Minister Brooke van Velden has ordered a formal funding review.
