
BBC News presenter Maryam Moshiri discloses blood cancer diagnosis
BBC News presenter Maryam Moshiri, 49, has disclosed she was diagnosed with polycythaemia vera in November 2024. The rare blood cancer thickens blood and risks clots, strokes and heart attacks. It cannot be cured but can be treated. Moshiri shared the news in interviews with BBC News and The Times, saying she wanted to raise awareness after two years living with the disease.
