Kore-eda's 'Look Back' premieres in Venice competition

Kore-eda Hirokazu's live-action adaptation of Fujimoto Tatsuki's manga "Look Back" has premiered in Venice Film Festival competition, the director's fourth Lido appearance. The 100-minute Japanese production, made by Kore-eda's K2 company, adapts the 2021 Shōnen Jump+ one-shot by the "Chainsaw Man" creator. Venice awards are announced 12 September (Variety, 7 September 2026).
