Antonelli wins Italian GP from 19th on the grid — second-deepest comeback in F1 history

Kimi Antonelli won the 2026 Italian Grand Prix at Monza from 19th on the grid, the second-deepest comeback win in Formula 1 history. Only John Watson, from 22nd at the 1983 Long Beach GP, started further back and won. It was the 20-year-old Mercedes driver's seventh victory of the season and extended his championship lead to 66 points over teammate George Russell, who finished second.
