Houston exhibition excludes Buchanan's 'shack' sculptures for unseen archive material

"Divination: Beverly Buchanan & Dionne Lee" opens at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston on 4 September 2026, curated by senior curator Rebecca Matalon. The exhibition sets aside Buchanan's best-known "shack" sculptures, drawing instead on rarely shown photographs, journals and self-published works from her archives, paired with videos by Dionne Lee. It runs through 14 February 2027.
