Microsoft closes Compulsion Games weeks after South of Midnight release
Xbox is shutting down Compulsion Games, the Montreal studio behind action-adventure South of Midnight, released April 8. Kotaku reported the news; Microsoft has not confirmed officially. The closure fits a pattern of studio shutdowns since the Activision Blizzard acquisition—including Tango Gameworks, developer of acclaimed Hi-Fi Rush. Microsoft appears to be consolidating toward fewer, larger strategic bets rather than sustaining a broad portfolio.
