Google Open-Sources DiffusionGemma, a Faster Text-Generation Model Using a Different Approach

Google released DiffusionGemma on June 10, an open-weight model that generates text in parallel steps rather than word-by-word, reducing response time for long outputs. The diffusion-based approach still faces coherence and instruction-following challenges. It provides developers a working baseline to test against traditional language models in speed-sensitive applications.
