Meta Quietly Removes Hidden Face Recognition from Ray-Ban Glasses App

Meta deleted dormant face-recognition code from its Ray-Ban AI Glasses app after WIRED revealed the unreleased feature in June 2026. The capability was never active or disclosed to users, and absent from Meta's privacy policy. The company removed it without explanation about how or why the code existed.
