Cats stand down Kolodjashnij as AFL investigates secret concussion waiver

Geelong confirmed on Tuesday that 209-game defender Jake Kolodjashnij, 31, is unavailable at AFL and VFL level this weekend. The AFL is investigating a secret waiver, struck two years ago under then-CEO Steve Hocking, that shifted legal responsibility for future brain trauma onto Kolodjashnij. Neither the AFL nor the AFLPA saw the document. The AFL Commission has hired independent legal counsel to weigh sanctions.
